Although premium Carson lenses still produced the best overall results, the reviewer considered Jerry-31's distortion control excellent relative to its cost. Distortion testing revealed:

With fewer artificial light sources present, chromatic aberration was significantly reduced, image brightness remained strong, and detail rendering was adequate for navigation and observation.
